It turns out all JOANN stores across the country are going to close.
The company said the winning bidder of the assets, GA Group, plans to begin winding down the operations and conduct going-out-of-business sales at all store locations, once the bankruptcy court signs off.
There is one in Hibbing and one in Duluth. Originally, only Hibbing was on the list of stores to close.
According to the website, they have about 850 stores in 49 states.
In a statement, JOANN said, “JOANN leadership, our Board, advisors and legal partners made every possible effort to pursue a more favorable outcome that would keep the company in business. We are committed to working constructively with the winning bidder to ensure an orderly wind-down of operations that minimizes the impact on all our stakeholders. We deeply appreciate our dedicated Team Members, our customers and communities across the nation for their unwavering support for more than 80 years.”
They had filed for bankruptcy back in March of 2024.
