New Amazon distribution center in Duluth is coming along

We are getting closer to having an Amazon distribution center in the Northland.

The building at the former Atlas Cement site between Morgan Park and Gary New Duluth is really coming along.

Daniel Fanning, VP of Policy and Strategy for the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce, said they get quarterly updates from Amazon.

“They’ve shared with us that they’re planning to open sooner than later. The building’s up and looking really great. They’re actually looking at the possibility of doing some transportation related work out there as well. So right now they’re looking to contract with some local delivery systems. So we’re excited about that,” he said.

Small businesses have told the chamber that they too are excited, because it does mean faster delivery for inventory as well.
