Animal Allies says area is getting close to animal welfare crisis level
It’s nearly July, and there are still dogs at Animal Allies who’ve been there since January.
There is a special adoption promotion right now to help those pups find their forever families.
“We’re trying to draw attention to these long-term dogs, who deserve good homes,” shared Nicole Facciotto, the Adoption Manager.
Plus, they’ve recently taken in 11 dogs, which puts them over the number of kennels they have.
The shelter is at capacity, and there is concern that they are getting to animal welfare crisis levels.
They also see a spike around 4th of July, with animals that end up getting lost or run away.
If you can foster, you’re urged to reach out right away.
And Facciotto said it’s important to adopt responsibly. “Ensure they are spayed or neutered,” she said.
There is a free microchip event coming up on Thursday from 1-3pm at Animal Allies.
