Arrests made in Hibbing as part of ongoing narcotics investigation
Four people have been charged and are in custody following arrests in Hibbing over the weekend of August 10 as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
The Lake Superior Violent Offender Task Force (LSVOTF) and the St Louis County Sheriff’s Office Emergency Response Team executed a search warrant Saturday evening, August 10 on Highway 37 and Dublin Road near the Hibbing airport.
“A male and female were taken into custody and are charged with 1st degree sales of methamphetamine for their part in trafficking methamphetamine from Chicago to the Iron Range over the last several months,” explained Division Commander Nate Skelton. “$1900 of suspected drug proceeds were seized from the passenger during this warrant.”
A second search warrant was executed early on August 11 in the Brooklyn area of Hibbing. A male and female were also taken in custody there; one had outstanding arrest warrants
“Approximately 617 grams of methamphetamine was seized during this warrant, as well as cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, schedule II pills, and nearly an ounce of fentanyl. $1562 of drug proceeds were seized during this warrant,” said Skelton.
Ronald Freeman and Emily Russo of Hibbing, Shaunte Parker of Chicago, and Chavell Ford of Las Vegas are currently in custody and charges have also been referred to three individuals not in custody at this time.
