Ashland woman dies after being hit by vehicle

Authorities are now investigating a fatal pedestrian crash in Ashland.

First responders headed to State Highway 13/Ellis Avenue near 7th Street Wednesday evening around 8pm.

The police said the vehicle had been heading north on Ellis Avenue, when 68-year-old Rose Kozeneski walked across the road, diagonally, from the median.

Paramedics treated her and brought her to the hospital, but she died from her injuries.

Police said the driver, a 66-year-old man from Ashland, did not see her until the impact.

Alcohol or drugs are not suspected, according to investigators.
