Bass Pro Shops announces plans to open in Hermantown

On Monday, Bass Pro Shops announced plans for a new Outpost retail location in Hermantown. According to a release sent from the company, this will be the fifth store in Minnesota. The business is expected to open early in 2025. It will be at the former location of Camping World on Haines Road in Hermantown.

“It’s an honor to serve the sportsmen and women in the Duluth area and help outfit them for adventures as they enjoy the rich fishing and hunting opportunities in Minnesota and throughout the region,” legendary angler, noted conservationist and Bass Pro Shops founder Johnny Morris said in the release.

At the new Hermantown location, Bass Pro Shops says it is expected to employ more than 100 “Outfitters.” Employment information, when available, will be posted at basspro.com/careers.

Bass Pro Shops was founded in 1972 when avid young angler Johnny Morris began selling tackle out of his father’s liquor store in Springfield, Missouri. The company says conservation is at the heart of the company, and saying they have donated more than 10% of earnings to support conservation programs in the local communities and across North America.
