Batch of Johnsonville Cheddar Brats recalled due to possible plastic contamination

Johnsonville is recalling roughly 22,672 pounds of their Cheddar Bratwurst product over concerns it may be contaminated with hard plastic, according to the UDSA.

The Cheddar bratwursts were packaged on February 5th, 2025 with the package code B9FG0D.

The USDA says the product was shipped to retail stores in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Kansas, Kentucy, Indiana, Georgia, Ohio, Tennesee, and Virginia.

The problem was discovered after two customer complaints to Food Safety and Inspection Services reporting hard plastic material that was found in the bratwurst product.

No reports of injuries have been reported.

Officials say you should throw out the product and not eat it if you have bought it, and ask the retailer for a refund.
