Being prepared for severe weather before it hits
Thursday made for a beautiful spring day during Severe Weather Awareness Week. But the week reminds us that things can change, and quickly.
Northern Tool + Equipment provided some insight in how to prepare for when those summer storms hit.
Mike Surface is the store manager. He told us, “Generators can provide that safety and security that help you feel better during those times when the power’s out. They come in different sizes. And make sure you always use them in a well-ventilated area, not indoors.”
Also, remember to get enough power cords for that generator.
Other things to consider is having pumps and shop vacs for flooding. Battery-powered chainsaws are also a good bet, for clean up.
And just because you have the equipment, doesn’t mean your ready. “Start it up, test it out, put in good quality gas. We recommend 91 octane,” Surface shared.
They have a service department if your tools aren’t working properly.
