Bicyclist hurt after being hit by a car on Highway 45 in Carlton County

A Wrenshall man is being treated for injuries after being hit by a vehicle.
The State Patrol said that Michael Benson, 34, had been riding a bike on Highway 45. This was before 5am on Tuesday, about a mile south of I-35.
According to the patrol, a Ford Focus heading south struck him. Benson is being treated at Essentia Health-St. Mary’s Medical Center.
The driver, a 60-year-old from Wrenshall, got treatment at Community Memorial Hospital in Cloquet.
