Bikers say, ‘We’re getting back on the roads now’ at Superior motorcycle rally
Sunday, motorcyclists gathered in Superiors to become more visible to passersby. Standing on the sidewalk with signs to raise awareness.
It’s the 14th year of this demonstration that takes place during Wisconsin’s motorcycle awareness month. But bikers from the Minnesota side of the Northland even visit because of the message.
During summer more bikers are getting back on the roads and they say other drivers need a reminder to stay alert.
Event Coordinator Dorrie Meyer says, “As a motorcyclist, there’s some really frightening times out there when people are turning into you and they don’t see you… Just watch out for us because we are going to watch out for you.”
Aside from the getting the word out, Dorrie says that the motorcycle rally also acts as a mini reunion for everyone.
