Blandin plans to restart the Grand Rapids plant the week of September 11th
A statement from UPM Blandin said the company plans on restarting the mill in Grand Rapids the week of September 11th.
This comes after the company and Teamsters Local 346 reached an agreement on a new labor contract earlier this month. Members had been on strike since July 15th.
The three year contract has been ratified. But the company said the order book needed to be refilled before they called the employees back.
Blandin said they are still working to re-establish their order book. They also said they are looking forward to having everyone return to work.
