Blood donations especially needed over Memorial Day holiday

Blood donations are a constant need, but the American Red Cross says they’re especially important when donations drop over a holiday like Memorial Day.

They’re making a big push between May 22-June 15.

People who donate through May 31 will get a free beach towel and be automatically entered to win a trip for two to the MLB All Star Game in Seattle.

In June, donors will receive a $10 gift card to a store of their choice. They’ll also be entered to win a backyard theater prize package.

Appointments can be made through the Red Cross app, by visiting RedCross.org, or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS.
