A Duluth area restaurant and bar is expanding into downtown Duluth.
Blue Rock Grill was open near the Miller Hill mall but will now be moving into space on Superior street where the 7 West Taphouse is now.
“We closed Blue Rock back at the beginning of the year and our plan was always to reopen,” Jake Olson, Regional Operations Manager for the Letnes Restaurant Group said.
“It took us a few months to kind of figure out where we were going and work out some of the kinks,” he said.
But they did figure it out as Blue Rock Grill will be opening up in downtown Duluth in the building that’s currently the 7 West Taphouse.
The Letnes Restaurant group owns 26 restaurants in our region including both Blue Rock and 7 West Taphouse.
Olson says customers should expect an expanded menu at the downtown Duluth location.
Olson said, “7 West Taphouse has great burgers and fries, and tacos, that kind of quick lunch food. And we don’t want to change that, we want to keep that clientele happy. But we want to incorporate some of the favorite Blue Rock stuff too and utilize the new equipment we have”
Olson said that 7 West Taphouse will close in September and the new Blue Rock restaurant will open in early October.
