Bong Bridge inspection to result in lane closures on US 2

Drivers can expect delays traveling on the Bong Bridge next week. According to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), drivers can expect lane closures while bridge engineers from WisDOT inspect the Bong Bridge structure’s arch span. The bridge carries US 2 traffic over the St. Louis River between Superior and Duluth. The public may encouter the delays and should plan accordingly.

WisDOT shows the following closures will be in place between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the arch:
Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 5 and 6: East- and westbound right lane and shoulder.
Wednesday, Aug. 7: Eastbound right lane and shoulder.
Thursday, Aug. 8: Rain make-up day if necessary.
