Boys and Girls Clubs of the Northland announce “Youth of the Year” winner

The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Northland announced their “Youth of the Year” winner on Thursday evening. This year’s winner was Jakiele Taylor. The event was celebrated with a dinner where the nominees gave a speech and were honored for their hard work and passion for the clubs. The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Northland Board of Directors and several local community leaders attended the celebration and interviewed both nominees. The staff selected the winner based on their attendance, attitude, and respect towards staff and other club members.

Taylor will now be competing in the state “Youth of the Year” competition. The winner of that award will be awarded a scholarship and move to the national competition for a chance to win another scholarship and be installed by the President of the United States.
