A fun way to end the school year at Bryant Elementary, the school’s chess champ, Connor Bailey, faced off against Superior Mayor Jim Paine.
Bailey learned to play chess through the school’s chess club.
Paine admits that he got a bit nervous, “I had drawn black, and it’s a tiny bit harder. And Connor used the only opening that makes me nervous.”
He adds, “He only slipped up once of twice, but I wasn’t about to let that happen.”
Mayor Paine did end up winning the match, but we’re pretty impressed with Connor!
