Bulls and Barrels something new to see at the South St. Louis County Fair

Bulls and Barrels are at the South St. Louis County Fair in Proctor this year.

Co-coordinators Gwen Knute and Amelia Schilla have a passion for rodeo, and wanted something in our backyard during the fair season.

“It was an idea,” Gwen said. Amelia added, “It kind of snowballed from there. We are really excited to bring it to northern Minnesota during fair time.”

3T Bucking Bulls is putting on the fun, which includes bulls, mini bulls, mutton busting and barrel races.

One barrel racer, Ashley Knudsen, is from Brookston. “I love how fast my adrenaline gets going, before I get into the pen. My horse is what makes it the best part.”

This is the result of work by the Dirt Floor Arena, Fair Board, and Proctor Tourism folks.

Gates open at 5pm on Friday, with the show starting at 6pm.
