Care team at the Twin Ports VA Clinic helps thousands of veterans a year
About 6500 veterans walk into the Twin Ports VA Clinic each year. That equals about 120 a day.
One of them last week was Leo Svir, who served in the Army. The Aurora man went on to raise a family while he worked at Erie Mining Company.
The team at the clinic really want to be there, because they believe that caring for those who served our country is a special honor.
Dr. Mike Huska is an internal medicine doctor there. He saw Leo last week, and has seen so many before him. “You realize how your life is different because of them, and that inspires you to want to serve them,” Dr. Huska told us.
Clinic Manager Chery Stage shared, “We are not here for us, we are here for the veterans.”
