Carlton County man killed in early morning accident

One man is dead following a single vehicle accident in Carlton County on Thursday morning. The crash happened just after 9:00 a.m. in Twin Lakes Township.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 69-year-old man from Sawyer, Minnesota was driving a Ford Escape eastbound on Highway 210 near the cross street of County Road 5 when the vehicle crossed into the westbound lane. The report says the vehicle entered the north ditch and hit an embankment. Authorities list the road was wet at the time of the crash.
The name of the victim has not yet been released and the accident remains under investigation.
The Fond Du Lac Tribal Police, Carlton County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota DNR, Carlton Fire and Rescue and the Cloquet Ambulance assisted at the scene.
