Cass County Sheriff discovers missing man drowned in Pine River

The Cass County Sheriff Bryan Welk reports that in the morning of August 26th, 2024, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a missing adult male in the City of Pine River, MN.
Pine River Police responded and learned that the adult male, age 54, had left his residence and gone swimming in the nearby Pine River. A further search of the area led to them finding the victim later that night in the river at 7:13pm, deceased.
An autopsy is scheduled with the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.
