Central Lakes garage fire sends one person to hospital
One person was transported to the hospital Tuesday night for smoke inhalation resulting from a fire in the Central Lakes area south of Eveleth.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s office tells us the structure was a larger Morton-building type of garage. The building and all it’s contents were a total loss.
It is believed that the fire started as a result of gasoline accidently being ignited while a wood stove was being lit.
The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office and Central Lakes Volunteer Fire Department responded to the 7400 Block of Wilson Road due to the fire just after 5:00 Tuesday afternoon.
One person was transported to the Virginia hospital, due to smoke inhalation.
It is believed that the fire started as a result of gasoline accidently being ignited, while a wood stove was being lit.
The Central Lakes Fire Department was assisted by 9 other area fire departments. The Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office will be investigating.
