Chisholm boy memorizes 340 digits of Pi
Hayden Erickson loves setting goals for himself. The 10-year-old from Chisholm accomplished a big one in time for Pi Day.
“I wanted to memorize 314 digits of Pi for Pi Day. But I ended up memorizing 340,” he told us. And then he rattled them off for us. Took about three minutes.
Hayden says he does so by memorizing 5 number chunks at a time.
He’s won contests before, and is hoping to do so again. The prize is usually a pie from the local bakery.
As for other things he likes besides math? Sports, playing the piano, sledding and board games! Keep it up, young man!
