Cider North festival coming to Duluth in January
If you love cider, mark your calendars for January 21st, 2023. The DECC’s first-ever Cider North is coming to the Harbor Side Ballroom.
Tickets are on sale now; $40 for general admission, $60 for VIP.
“I’m proud to say that we are the second cider festival in the state of Minnesota,” shared the DECC’s Executive Director, Dan Hartmann. “Having this in January help us book hotel rooms, get people to restaurants, helps people get to attractions, goes retail at a time of the year that we could all use more business. And so we’re choosing kind of a tough season intentionally so that we bring some of that traffic up here that normally just doesn’t come up here.”
Cideries from all across Minnesota are joining in on the fun, 24 to be exact!
“It’s a great way to invite the community to get together and gather. We talk a lot about how there’s a loneliness epidemic in this country and we need to create opportunities for people to get out of their homes, get off their couch, turn off Netflix and come do something,” shared the DECC’s Communications Director, Lucie Amundsen. “And what a great way to showcase these local businesses, the cider needs. But also from all over the state because who doesn’t need something fun to do in January.”
Duluth is proud of the two hometown cideries here. The owner of Duluth Cider is excited to see what the other cideries in Minnesota have to offer.
“In Minnesota, there are a lot of really great craft ciders, and this is going to be a wonderful opportunity to not only bring people to the Duluth community, but also for Duluthians to try all of the ciders in Minnesota,” shared Duluth Cider’s Owner, Valerie Scott. “There are some really great producers here in the state, and this festival is an opportunity for them to showcase their products and then also for folks to come out and try everything that’s from Minnesota.”
The January 21st event will be from 2:00p.m. to 5:00p.m. in the Harbor Side Ballroom. You must be 21+ to attend.
