The City of Duluth held a public meeting to discuss changes to Skyline Parkway from Twin Ponds to the Enger Park Golf Course Tuesday June 25th. This is the second meeting they’ve held addressing safety improvements to Skyline Parkway from Twin Ponds to the Enger Park Golf Course.

Plans include converting the Skyline Parkway Loop from Twin Ponds to Enger Park Golf Course into a one-way street going East to West, adding a barrier between the road and pedestrians, removing the Fifth street and Sixth street intersections, and increasing law enforcement patrol in the area.

“We heard a lot of concern about the intersection with Fifth and Skyline. The idea being to try to make space for pedestrians because this is a narrow corridor, and the road currently takes up most of it, “said traffic engineer Joe Jurewicz. “The challenge is we don’t have space to grow the road, so what can we do to fit all of those road users with some dedicated space in one place? That’s where the one-way came from.”

Changes to West Skyline Parkway are aimed to start before winter.
