City of Superior kicks off Holiday Season
The City of Superior hosted its Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday evening. The ceremony started at 5 p.m. in Center City Park and this year, the city is celebrating with a new, recently planted tree.
“The tree lighting has been the kickoff to the holiday season, for not only the SBID’s Businesses but the whole City of Superior. We are grateful for this new, healthy tree and our gorgeous lights on Tower Avenue!”, says Kelly Peterson, the Executive Director of the Superior Business Improvement District.
Attendees were able to enjoy the holiday music, treats and hot beverages. The Boarder Town Betties, along with Santa made appearances at the event. The ceremony also featured the unveiling of a carving created by GrizzWorks made out of the previous holiday tree.
Superior Mayor Jim Paine shared, “This year’s tree lighting not only kicks off this holiday season, it starts a whole new era as we debut our brand-new tree. Its small, but I hope that many of you will join me in this first year so we can watch it grow together.”
Proceeds from the event were given to the Ryan Hoff Memorial Youth Foundation to support efforts towards children in need.
