Cloquet High School raises money from ‘pennies’ for a good cause

You ever had a penny war? Well that is exactly what Cloquet Middle School had to raise money for a special organization. The kids gathered today to present the check too First Witness, an organization that helps children.
“So I’m in student council and I joined our community service group, and so I researched to nonprofit charities to just kind of have a fundraiser for them, to help them out a bit. And we felt very strongly about this one and how it can be very helpful towards families and children. And so we had a penny wars, so everyone would bring in their change and kind of change. And so now today we get to present the check to them,” said Nevaeh Sundgaard a sixth grader.
The students raised over $1,000 over a span of a few months.
