Tammy Churness continues to battle Stage 4 cancer each day. The Two Harbors wife, mom, and grandma is beloved by many.
Her friend, Brooke LeClaire, told us, “She’s been able to meet many goals, like seeing her grandkids and her son graduate. But she’s getting increasingly sick now. She’d declined the help of a fundraiser for many years, saying she thought others would need it more than her. But now she’s willing to say yes.”
Team Tammy is behind her 110%.
So Tig’s Smok’n Pig BBQ is going to raise money for Team Tammy.
Owner Troy Fralich knows what this means to the family. He lost a brother-in-law to cancer, and this is done in honor of him.
“This is the third annual Greg Freese Memorial Cancer Fundraiser,” he explained. “It’s so great to see the community come together and support families.”
The fundraiser is Saturday, from 12-3pm, at Tig’s Smok’n Pig BBQ. The truck will be parked at the Harley Davidson store in Duluth. There will be plenty of opportunities for prizes.
Also, there is a GoFundMe page set up for the family as well: https://www.gofundme.com/f/teaming-up-together-for-tammy
