Rock Ridge ready to welcome Concordia Choir

The Concordia Choir will kick off their domestic tour at Rock Ridge on Saturday the 24th.

Mark your calendars for another visit from Concordia College. This time, it’s the choir that’s coming to perform at Rock Ridge.

They’ve visited before, but this will be the first time they perform in the state of the art Performing Arts Center at the new high school.

Matt Krage, the director of the Rock Ridge choirs, is an alumni of the Concordia Choir. “It was a life-changing experience,” he shared.

Concordia can’t wait to come back. “We really love sharing our music with these young singers. And we are so proud of Matt Krage, and what he’s done,” said Wyatt Steinke, the manager of the choir.

The Rock Ridge students will share the stage with their older peers.

And Krage has been sharing more about what it was like to sing with Concordia. “We’ve been talking about what it’s like to be in college, and in a college choir,” he said.

It will be a bit of a blast from the past as well, because the director of the Concordia Choir was Krage’s high school choir director.

“We’ve been in concerts together. My choirs have sung for him. And my kids have seen his choir. But we’ve never performed together. So it will be really fun for me, and for him, to have this come full circle,” Krage said.

The concert is Saturday, February 24th. Tickets are $15 for adults, and free for students of all ages.
