650 kids from across the region tried their hand at welding, operating, and even roofing on Tuesday at the curling club in Eveleth.
Construct Tomorrow was back in action after a break during COVID.
There is a focus on diversifying the workforce, and including more women.
Two young ladies who we met were all about giving it a chance.
“I think a girl can do anything a guy can do,” shared Nyah Miller, from Northland Remer. “Stereotypes don’t exist for me. If I want to do it, I’ll do it.”
She was impressed with the information from the operating engineers booth.
Her friend, Larissa Morrell, said, “I liked the block work. And you can make good money.”
218 Trades helped out at the event.
The Iron Range Construction Career Night was also a big success on Monday.
