Cosmetic workshops at Mix Cosmetiques

Located on Woodland Avenue, Mix Cosmetiques offers a plethora of everyday cosmetics, but they also host workshops where people can participate in the making of products they use every day.

Every Week Mix Cosmetiques has workshops available where you can make lotions, bath bombs, lip balm, lip gloss, eye shadows, soap, and more.

Owner and founder Lanae Rhoads has been making organic cosmetics around Lake Superior since 2010. She says it’s fun sharing the making of product with customers. “I have a rotation of like 16 different things that I offer. You can come in any week and make a thing”, she says.

When working in a workshop not only are you making something for yourself to keep, but you are also learning a little bit of science along the way too! You can learn all the ins and outs of the chemical compounds and find out how different products help your skin.

Lanae says, “you know what if people taught science like this then they would realize it was really fun.”
