County says changes are coming to construction process on Highway 4 after reports of flat tires

People have been reporting getting flat tires after driving through construction areas on Highway 4.

The county said they are aware of the problems, and have been talking with the contractor, KGM Contractors.

There is going to be a change to the way the Class 5 gravel is being utilized. It is to specification, according to the county, but it appears sharper pieces are causing the tire damage.

Drivers are encouraged to slow down on the gravel.

Claims should be made through the contractor.
