COVID-19 boom sparks mask mandate at North Shore Health and North Shore Living
A mask mandate has been instated for all staff, patients, and visitors at North Shore Health and North Shore Living as of Wednesday July 31st.
North Shore Health is a rural health facility in Grand Marais, MN. The organization, which is part of the Cook County Hospital District includes a 16-bed critical access hospital, a 37-bed skilled nursing facility, a home health agency, an ambulance service and a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic services.
The mandate follows reports of recent COVID-19 cases in residents and staff members along with a surge of COVID-19 numbers in surrounding communities like Grand Marais, Grand Portage, Lutsen, and Hovland.
Those entering North Shore Health will be required to wear a mask. North Shore Health stated in a press release “This is being done to protect all those at North Shore Health including North Shore Living and the Hospital”.
