Multiple residents displaced in Piedmont Ave. fire in Duluth

Two residents were displaced following a structure fire Sunday evening, April 6, at 2204 Piedmont Avenue in Duluth. According to a release from a representative of the City of Duluth, crews arrived to find a commercial space with visible smoke coming from the back side of the structure’s upper floor.

The apartment was safely evacuated and no injuries were reported. However, as previously stated, two residents have been displaced by the fire. Damages are estimated at around $80,000.

The fire is now under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal.

Crews from downtown, Duluth Heights, Lincoln Park, Spirit Valley, and UMD were quickly able to knock down the fire.

They were assisted by the Duluth Police Department, Minnesota Power, and Saint Louis County 911 Dispatch in their response.
