Design your own candle at Lake Superior Art Glass

Design your own candle is a new partnership with Lake Superior Art Glass and Naturalight Candles. This is the first business collaboration between the two businesses in Canal Park. However, this event is only in the month of May will customers be able to design a candle holder with unique colors and style along with a choice of five different candle scents.

Kiya Plummer-Caven, the owner and candle maker of Naturalight Candles, also talked more about the design your own candle collaboration. “You get to design your own vessel so you can pick the colors you want. The design can have swirls, there can be little imprints on the glass. They have all sorts of different colors and embellishments. You get to choose from five to six different scents.” Kiya said.

Naturalight Candles will also be providing environmentally friendly waxes for the design your own candle event. “We use 100% soybean wax for our wax. The wicks are a braided paper and cotton, so there’s no lead metal or zinc in them. And all of the oils that we use are highly paraffin free so they are clean burning. You won’t have any black soot or black smoke being sent off into the air.” Kiya said. “It’s not only healthy for the environment, it’s healthy for you as well. We have a lot of winter months in Minnesota, so a lot of people sit inside and burn candles. And if your candles aren’t being made with quality products, you can actually be sending chemicals and different byproducts of the candle off into your air for your family and your pets and you to be here inhaling.”
