Dream It, Be It event at Rock Ridge gave girls a chance to hear from women about their career paths
Medical professionals, business leaders, a musician, and tradeswomen shared more about their career paths on Tuesday at Rock Ridge.
This was part of the Dream It, Be It event put up on by the Soroptimists.
Messages from the panelists included work hard, try new things, and follow your dreams.
Ida Rukavina, Commissioner of Iron Range Resources and Rehabilitation, shared that she worked in road construction in the past. And she hasn’t ruled out going back to it someday.
Another leader, Teresa Appelwick, is the President of the Laurentian Chamber of Commerce. She said that being a laborer was one of the best jobs she had, and she encouraged the young ladies to give the trades a try.
Shannon Gunderson, a local musician, told the girls they should follow their dreams. She’s been in music for decades, and just recorded her first album.
