Driver arrested after crashing stolen vehicle into tree early Tuesday morning

A stolen vehicle crashed into a tree early Tuesday morning in Duluth, leading to the arrest of a 33-year-old man on multiple charges, according to the Duluth Police Department.

Officers responded to the crash at 3rd West and 3rd Street at around 3 a.m. The driver fled the scene but was apprehended shortly after.

Officials say the suspect was booked into the St. Louis County Jail on felony warrants and faces additional pending charges.

The Minnesota State Patrol is taking over the investigation into the incident.
