Three people evacuated from house fire in Duluth this morning
During the overnight hours on Tuesday June 18th, the Duluth Fire Department responded to report of a porch and stairs on fire at a two story single house located nearby the 700 block of West 6th Street.
Firefighters responded just three minutes after the initial dispatch at 12:12 a.m., and safely evacuated three residents inside the house. They also acted quickly to knock down the fire and kept it from reaching the interior of the house.
No injuries were reported.
The Duluth Fire Department wants to thank the quick actions of a neighbor who swiftly called first responders and alerted the residents of the situation. The fire department says their actions minimized the damages to the house.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Duluth Fire Marshal’s office. Damages are estimated at $30,000.
Firefighters from Headquarters, Lincoln Park and Spirit Valley responded to the scene and were there for about two hours.
