Suspect charged in Duluth home burglaries

William Paige has been charged with two counts of burglary for an incident on Sunday, March 30, 2025. The first count carries a maximum sentence of 20 years imprisonment, a $35,000 fine, or both. The second count carries a maximum sentence of 10 years imprisonment, a $20,000 fine, or both.

Paige was arrested Sunday after leading officers on a foot chase and barricading himself inside a home, according to Duluth police.

Officers responded around 4:00 p.m. to a reported burglary on West 6th Street and followed fresh footprints in the snow to another residence on North Central Avenue. Officers determined the individual inside was not the homeowner and quickly set up a perimeter.

Officials say the suspect did not comply with officers’ commands. Officers then breached the door and deployed a drone for surveillance. Officials also deployed a taser, but was ineffective on the suspect. This then lead officers to deploy K9 Vili, where Paige was then taken into custody. Authorities find stolen property from both residences in his possession.

Paige was then booked in the St. Louis County Jail.

Duluth Police officials gave their appreciation to the Patrol Crew C for quickly bringing this incident to a safe resolution.
