Members of the Duluth Police Department were honored Thursday for the work they did in 2022. This includes new hires and promotions, plus those who have done exceptional work got a shout out.
Police Chief Mike Ceynowa tells WDIO that it’s not just important for the officers to get the recognition but also to show the community the work that goes on behind the scenes.
“We had community members here who didn’t have police officers that are family members or friends. They’re just supporters of the police department that came out to celebrate the work that everybody does,” Ceynowa said, adding that this lifts everyone up.
The Duluth Police Foundation was also in attendance. They’re a group of volunteers who come together to work with officers throughout the community.
The ceremony honored both professional and sworn staff members.
