Victim identified in fatal Duluth motorcycle crash

UPDATE: The deceased has been identified as Zhen Zhou (39) of Duluth.

Duluth Police officers are investigating a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Rice Lake Road and Arrowhead Road that occurred Monday morning at 6:45 a.m. According to an update from the Duluth Police Department, one person has died from injuries.

Authorities say they responded the a report of a vehicle accident involving an SUV and a motorcycle at the intersection of West Arrowhead Road and Rice Lake Road in Duluth. The driver of the motorcycle, who was wearing a helmet, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash resulted in a second collision with two other vehicles stopped at the traffic light, according to authorities. No other injuries were reported.

Duluth Police say there were no signs of impairment by any of the individuals involved. The crash remains under investigation and the Minnesota State Patrol is assisting.

The identities of those involved have not been released pending notification of family members.

Duluth Police had notified the public on their Facebook page, asking people to avoid the intersection as investigations are underway.
