Duluth Police K9 Gus tracks down burglary suspect

Duluth Police say K9 Gus was deployed during the search for a burglary suspect overnight.

Officers responded to the 1900 block of E 8th Street around 1:40am, where a 34-year-old man was attempting to gain access into the business At Sara’s Table. The suspect fled on a stolen bicycle, then on foot along the 1900 block of South Street.

K9 Gus was sent after the suspect into a wooded area, taking down the suspect on the 400 block of S 19th Avenue E. The suspect was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained in the apprehension, and is facing charges of attempted burglary, possession of stolen property, and fleeing law enforcement.

K9 Gus has been on the Duluth Police force since May.
