Duluth Public Schools Board meeting votes on new budget
The new 2024 to 2025 school year budget for Duluth Public Schools was approved on Wednesday June 18th. The budget is reduced from previous years due to two referendums failing to pass and COVID funding being spent.
The budget will likely be reduced further the following school year. The budget reduction will affect staffing, stipends, and some programing.
“Where we have been able to say yes over the course of the past four years, the answer will more often be no when it comes to additional expenditures,” said superintendent of Duluth Public Schools John Magas “I wouldn’t say people will feel a drastic difference this year. But, there will be pretty significant differences in the coming years.”
