Duluth welcomes Ashley Furniture

Ashley Furniture has opened its door to the city of Duluth Wednesday. It’s in the former Shopko location, although you might not even recognize it as it’s been newly remodeled.

There are three different division under the one roof. This includes- Furniture Mart, Ashley, and Ashley Outlet. It spreads over 120,000 square feet.

The furniture mart found has northland ties, growing up in Siren, WI and attended the University of Wisconsin Superior. This is part of the reason the store is excited to open. And the enthusiasm has been matched by the public.

General Manager Russ Poderzay told us, “You can’t build a church on Easter. I have a lot of sale staff, and we cannot keep up from just the people in town. Now the range is coming down. It’s been a lot of buzz.”

The business also looks forward to giving back to the community. They’re known for their work with “Hope to Dream” The organization gives new twin sized mattresses to children in need.
