Duluth woman charged with stabbing sister

Nyeima LeeRose Saice, age 19 of Duluth, has been charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon and one count of domestic assault for an alleged stabbing incident involving her sister on Monday, March 31.

Court documents state that Duluth Police Officers responded to a reported stabbing on 98th Ave. West in shortly before 3:00 a.m. When officers arrived on scene, they identified one woman in her early 20s with a stab wound to the neck. The victim was brought to a nearby hospital to be treated for injuries.

Officers spoke to the homeowner of the residence, and the mother of the alleged and victim, who said Saice and the victim were sisters and had been fighting while they were out of the house earlier that night. The argument continued at home and the homeowner entered the room to find a male in his early 20s pulling Saice off the victim and a significant amount of blood coming from the victim’s neck.

Saice then left the scene. Court documents further state that the male witness said Saice came into the bedroom with what he described as a kitchen knife and attempted to stab hum in the stomach, but missed and then stabbed the victim twice in the neck.

Saice returned to the residence during the investigation and provide law enforcement with a statement. Saice said herself and the victim were throwing objects at each other and that she was trying to leave but that the victim and and the male witness kept arguing with her so she couldn’t leave. She said she had a knife because she was cutting tags off clothing for her child. Saice told law enforcement “I think I stabbed her, I didn’t mean to,” and that she was trying to get the male witness away from her, but her sister intervened.

Saice is scheduled for a hearing on April 29.
