Duluth’s own CJ Ham returns to host a charity softball game in May

Minnesota Vikings’ Fullback and Duluth’s own CJ Ham is returning to host a charity softball game in late May. The donations will be benefitting the Thielen Foundation, for the second year in a row!

The annual charity softball game first started back in 2022, when Adam Thielen played for the Vikings. After he was signed by the Carolina Panthers in 2023, he could no longer attend the game. Thankfully, current Vikings players stepped up in his place to continue raising funds for a good cause. Vikings’ Safety Harrison Smith hosted in 2023, and Duluth’s own CJ Ham hosted in 2024

CJ Ham spoke about his excitement to host again in an Instagram post

“Engaging with fans at the UNRL Celebrity Softball Game was a blast last year as the host,” said Ham. “I am excited to return and make a positive difference in the Minnesota community.”

Proceeds from the UNRL® Celebrity Softball Game support both Thielen Foundation and the Ham Family Scholarship Fund. The scholarship was created in 2022 by Ham and his wife to support students of color in the Duluth-Superior area, where Ham is from.

Tickets for the annual Vikings offense v. defense showdown are available for purchase online at thielenfoundation.org.

Sponsorships are also available for the charity softball game. Sponsorships include tickets to the VIP reception and meet and greet with Ham following the game. Companies and individuals can contact carter@capture-se.com for more information.

The family-friendly softball game is on May 29 at CHS Field. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. There will be a home run derby at 6:00 p.m. The softball game will start at 7:00 p.m. There also will be in-game giveaways, a silent auction, and raffle.
