Early morning Structure fire in Morse Township

At around 5:30 a.m., on Monday, January 20th, emergency services responded to reports of smoke from inside a guest residence in Morse Township. The call came from a block around the 3300 area of the Wolf Lake Road, which is west of Ely.

There were four individuals who were at the location and all of them were able to evacuate from the house after the flames were seen. Currently, there were no reports of injuries during the incident.

A short time after the emergency services arrived, the guest residence became fully engulfed in flames and was considered a total loss.

According to the Northland Fire Wire, the temperature at the scene where crews battled the fire was around -40. The Morse-Fall Lake, Eagles Nest, Ely, and Breitung Township fire departments worked on the fire.
