East Range Academy to debut four day school week, with additional resources for mental health
The new school year is fast approaching. And there will be a new schedule in place for the East Range Academy of Technology and Science in Mt. Iron.
The free, public charter school is going to a four day flexible week.
“All students will attend Monday-Thursday,” explained new director Noel Cordero. “Every other Friday, if they need extra support, they can come in. And if they are starting to fall behind on their grades, they’ll be required to come in those Fridays, so they don’t end up slipping too far behind.”
Another focus will be on mental health.
“We have some partnerships with the Department of Health, and we were just accepted into a new initiative through the state,” Cordero added.
Come meet Cordero and enjoy activities and food at an open house on Tuesday, from 4-7pm.
