More details now about an investigation involving an employee at Rock Ridge High School.
St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office said they received cybertips about potential child exploitation.
One of the tips involved the solicitation of a minor who lives in the state of Georgia. Another tip involved an individual receiving child sexual abuse material.
They’ve identified the suspect as a person who lives in Eveleth and is employed at Rock Ridge.
Law enforcement executed a search warrant at the Rock Ridge High School on Thursday. And now, the district said an employee is on paid administrative leave.
Authorities said the suspect has been questioned, and multiple pieces of evidence have been collected. The investigation is ongoing.
In a letter to parents, Superintendent Noel Schmidt acknowledged the search, and said the district is fully cooperating.
“At this time, we do not believe any students are involved, and it is our belief this matter is wholly unrelated to the district,” Schmidt went on to say.
