Eveleth man, 63, dies from burn injuries

On Saturday, the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the victim of a rural Eveleth Fire died as a result of the injuries he sustained.
The victim has been identified as Dale Wallander, 63, of rural Eveleth.
Authorities responded to the house fire on the 7100 block of Antoinette Road around 11:30 am on Friday, October 11th. Wallander was found lying at the end of a driveway with burns over most of his body.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and the MN State Fire Marshal’s Office.
The Eveleth Police Department, MN State Patrol, Eveleth Ambulance, Fayal Fire Department, Central Lakes Fire Department, Colvin Fire Department, Ellsberg Fire Department, Makkinen Fire Department, Lakeland Fire Department, Palo Fire Department, Virginia Ambulance, and Life Link III assisted St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office.
