Rock Ridge High School Dean of Students arrested in child exploitation investigation

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s office has identified Christopher Chad, Rock Ridge High School Dean of Students, as the Eveleth man arrested in connection to an investigation involving child exploitation material.

In early March, the Sheriff’s Office says they received information from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) about potential child exploitation. This information was received through the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) who shared it with the BCA who then passed it on to the Sheriff’s Office.

The tips indicated solicitation of a minor in the State of Georgia, as well as receiving sexual abuse material of a child. After investigating, authorities discovered the suspect was Christopher Chad, Rock Ridge High School Dean of Students. The Sheriff’s Office says it does not have any information indicating that any students at the school are victims.

The Sheriff’s Office along with other law enforcement agencies collected evidence after locating the suspect, and on March 18, arrested him on a felony warrant from the State of Georgia. He is currently facing criminal charges, and is pending extradition.

The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is ongoing.
